The Beginners Class is designed for the complete novice or the person who hasn't sewn since home ec class.

We will cover different basic techniques including:

- zig zag/overlock their seam edges
- how to sew a straight seam, french seam
- how to sew a dart
- how to make bias binding
- how to attach a facing on a curved neckline or armhole and understitch
- how to gather 

After this class you are ready to join further classes and advance to sewing styles that are suitable for a beginner to start on.

A few housekeeping things

  • Be prompt and arrive a bit early so that the class can start on time
  • Feel free to bring a bottle of water with you. 
  • Please do NOT bring in your own machine as we have Bernina sewing machines provided in this class.

Things you need to bring to class:

  • Pens or pencils
  • A notepad to record things you’ve learned or leads you want to follow.

The starter kit is provided and included in your class fee and you will go home with technique samples to refer to later.
