Welcome to the world of Quiltworx!

First time, a bit unsure, no problem! Bought a kit and have been afraid of it - join us.

We will help you understand the process and/or select the appropriate pattern, supplies and fabric for success.

Who:

hosted by Chantal of Hyggeligt in St Marys

What:

-5 full days to work on your project

-support and instruction from Quiltworx instructor Sherida Giddings

-6' table, hydro, irons (no personal irons are permitted), cutting tables

-5 lunches with water, tea and coffee

-lots of sharing

When:

-Monday, 27April 9:00am - Friday 01May 4:00pm (irons off at 3pm)

Where:

-Arden Park Hotel, Stratford Ontario

Why:

-we need a full 5 days to sink our teeth into a project and we're worth it!!

 

Not included:

Accommodation, breakfast and dinner, pattern, fabric, sewing machine (we can arrange), sewing notions and supplies

 

Supplies:

The room will be equipped with ironing stations, irons, cutting tables, mats. Do not bring your iron!

What to bring:

 

- the pattern pre-cut is grand
- fabric
- Flower pins
- Rotary cutter 45mm or 60 mm
- New rotary blade(s)
- 6" by 12" ruler
- A 12” x 18” cutting mat (minimum)
- High quality sewing thread
- Size 70/80 Microtex needles
- 12" or 18" Add-a-quarter ruler, don' need both
- Fabric glue ie UHU stick
- Glue Pen (Fons and Porter, Sewline, Bohin or Avery recommended), and replacement glue sticks
- Repositionable Glue (Judy prefers Scotch Brand)
- 12” Creative Grids Wave Ruler or the Curved Diamond Cutting and Trimming Ruler from Quiltworx.com (optional and only if your pattern has curves)
- Purple Thang (Optional, but helpful for steps that might include removing papers, having an extra finger, curved piecing, and so on).
- Scotch Magic Tape
- Large Ziploc Bags
- Stapler
- Binder Clips (medium and small)
- Large Paper Clips
- Acorn Easy Press Pen, replacement nibs, and Easy Press Solution (Optional)
- Basic Sewing Supplies (straight pins and pin cushion, scissors, seam ripper, fabric marking pen or pencil, small cutting mat (12x18 is grand), and a rotary cutter!

 

-Sewing machine in good working order, cords, 1/4" foot

We will have some notions at the workshop, just in case.
